Watson & Sons Funeral Home announces service for 80-year old J.D. Walton of Joaquin. Service will be at 10 this morning at Watson & Sons Chapel, with interment at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center. Among J.D. Walton’s survivors are daughters, Kimberly Walton of Galveston, Michelle Smith of Joaquin and Mickey Estes of Joaquin; sisters, Mickey Young of Buna, Patricia Nunley of Gilmer and Bernice Cooper of Gilmer; brother, Joe Walton of Ben Wheeler; and sisters-in-law, Jan Wolle of South Dakota, Linda Newman of Gary and Belva Spiva of Willis.

 

Watson & Sons Funeral Home announces a graveside service for 91-year old James Harold Black, Sr. of Palestine. He passed away Saturday in Palestine. Visitation will be from 11 to 2:30 today at Watson & Sons Funeral Home. A graveside service, with military honors, will follow at 3 at Salem Cemetery. Among James Harold Black, Sr.’s survivors are wife, Paula Kimbro Black of Palestine; son, Ronald Black of Deer Park; and daughter, Cindy Tindol of Houston.

 

Watson & Sons Funeral Home announces service for 90-year old Ruth Laverne Fountain Akridge of Center. Service will be at 1 this afternoon at Watson & Sons Chapel, with interment at Salem Cemetery in Center. Among Ruth Laverne Fountain Akridge’s survivors are, children, Joe Fountain of Center, James Fountain of Joaquin, and Paula Rogers of Oakhurst; Stepchildren, Carolyn Fenley of Center, Susan Toomer of Woden, Billy Akridge of Center and Gene Akridge of Nacogdoches; and sister, Shirley Morgan of Naples, Florida.

 

Watson & Sons Funeral Home announces graveside service for 78-year old Charles “Charlie” Roy Chase of Center. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Watson & Sons Funeral Home. Graveside service with military honors will be at 10 Wednesday morning at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center. Among Charles “Charlie” Roy Chase’s survivors are, sons, Richard Chase of Center and Roy Edward Chase of Beaumont; and daughters, Jana Leija of Houston and Shirley Metz of Baytown.

 

Mangum Funeral Home announces a graveside service for infant Dixie LeeAnn Graves. She was born and passed away last Wednesday at UTMB in Galveston. Graveside service will be at 4 Friday at Strong Cemetery. Dixie LeeAnn Graves is survived by parents, Kirk & Amanda Shofner Graves of Shelbyville; three brothers, Trey, Bailey and Paxton Graves; and granddaughter of R.E. “Bubba” Shofner of Shelbyville and Janet and Tom McLeod of Shreveport; and great grandmother, JoAnn Shofner.

 

Watson & Sons Funeral Home announces a memorial service for 82-year old Calvin Monroe “Pete” Cates of Shelbyville. Memorial service will be at 1 Saturday, May 17 at Ephesus Baptist Church in Shelbyville. Among Calvin Monroe “Pete” Cates’ survivors are, nieces, Regina Martin of Georgia and Janice Cates of Mississippi; and sister-in-law, Teresa Cates of Georgia.
