City, School Elections Saturday; Polling Locations Listed

Saturday is Election Day for several municipalities and school districts in the area, and polls will be open in Texas from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Cities of Timpson and Tenaha are electing a mayor, and the City of Tenaha is voting on a one-year council term and two-two-year council positions.

 

 

In the Timpson ISD, two trustee positions are to be filled; the Tenaha ISD has two board spots; while the Joaquin ISD is looking to fill three positions; and the Shelbyville ISD has two trustee seats to elect. Meanwhile, the Garrison ISD is filling three trustee positions.

 

Nacogdoches ISD voters are being asked to vote on a $58-million bond issue.

 

 

All registered voters in Timpson and Tenaha, regardless of city or school election can cast their ballots at their respective schools Saturday. Timpson area voters can do so in the gym foyer, and Tenaha at the administration building. The Joaquin ISD is voting at the school administration building and also at the Huxley Fire Department; and Shelbyville ISD voters can vote at the school administration.

Garrison ISD voters will be casting ballots at Garrison City Hall.
