Texas Rangers Assisting with Investigation of Child's Death

Texas Rangers have been asked to assist in the investigation of a 14-month old Timpson area child’s death after the toddler was found floating in a bathtub last Sunday afternoon by a family acquaintance.

Sheriff Willis Blackwell said in order to make sure all evidence was processed properly he requested assistance from Ranger Travis Brazil from Nacogdoches. The sheriff told us the investigation was coming together and it pointed to an unfortunate bad accident. He added CPS has also become involved, and if there were any charges to be filed, it would be up to them.

Trenton Parks was pronounced dead at Nacogdoches Medical Center, upon arrival by Timpson Volunteer Ambulance. The child’s parents, David and LeAnn Parks were at the home on County Road 4694 in the Rose Hill community, reportedly asleep, when a friend, Clayton Russell discovered the child in the tub with the water still running.

Sheriff Blackwell said the final cause of death has not been declared awaiting autopsy and toxicology results. The Parks’ three-year old child was also in the home and was unharmed.
