Shelby County Outreach Ministries to continue Pam White's Visions

With the sudden death of Shelby County Outreach Ministries' Executive Director Pam White Tuesday night, it's the board of director's intention for the ministries' programs to continue on as planned.

Outreach Ministries' Board President Donna Monroe told us yesterday, it's the board's intentions and wishes that employees and volunteers carry on Pam's visions she had for the outreach. Ms. Monroe added Pam we will missed tremendously, and what she has done for the community will always be remembered.

Ms. Monroe said the board will be meeting very soon to discuss the future leadership of the ministry. Shelby County Outreach, along with the Meals on Wheels and nutrition sites in both Shelby and San Augustine Counties were all closed yesterday out of respect.

Center Broadcasting was notified by Hazel Beasley, who heads up meal preparations, that the Meals on Wheels program will be up and running today and Friday as scheduled. However, the nutrition sites will remain closed until Monday.

Among the programs that are overseen by Shelby County Outreach Ministries are the nutrition sites, Meals on Wheels in both counties, in addition to the Unique Boutique store in East Center, the Helping Hands Outreach, and food pantry.

Josh Crawford is a program director, he says they will continue onward and upward, and that Pam's dream must live on and come to pass.

Pam White suffered a massive heart attack at the close of business Tuesday at the outreach ministries' offices on Shelbyville Street. This corrects the earlier information we were provided. Funeral service for 53-year old Pam White is pending.
