Center ISD Trustees Approve Computer, Software Upgrades

The Center ISD will be spending over $300-thousand this summer to purchase new computer workstations and update software district wide, as the digital learning movement has created the need to improve the infrastructure.

The board of trustees voted at last Thursday’s meeting to proceed with the project at the suggesting of the district’s technology director, Richard Miller. He said age of the existing computer inventory and software is increasing maintenance. Some 225 new workstations will be replaced and loaded with the most up-to-date software.

In addition, Miller’s approved work will include refreshing computer labs on all campuses.

Also, at the meeting, the CISD board approved the hiring the new teachers and certified staff. These include: Lori Brister, Felicia Cloudy, Sheila Cobb, Amanda Elder, Steven Fentress, Hollie Gaston, Shelby Hudspeth and Kristy Jurecka. The retirement of Brenda Hubble and Myrtis McClelland were accepted; and resignations of: Mollie Amburn, Lillie Barnes, Kadrian Bryant, Pamela Cleaver, Kristy Jurecka, Bradley Lawrence, and Jonathan Miller,  in addition to Tabitha Miller, Amy O’Dell, Elizabeth Pinkston, Emily Smith and Frances Spann.

Approved as a substitute teacher was Erika Cordray.
