After finding Brian Horn guilty of kidnapping and murder of 12-year old Justin Bloxom Wednesday, the jury in DeSoto Parish heard tearful testimony yesterday from Bloxom’s mother to start the sentencing hearing. By the end of the day, the state had rested its case, as an emotional Amy Fletcher took the stand, as she, the prosecutor and the jury all looked at photos of her son. In addition to testimony, jurors will also consider evidence offered by the state and the defense as they deliberate the 37-year old Horn’s fate. Horn’s mother is expected to take the stand today. The jury has to decide whether Horn should receive the death penalty or spend the rest of his life in prison. The state is seeking death.
