It appears the possibility of relocating the Center ISD transportation department and yard, or bus barn facility, has been scrapped due to costs involved. At the board of trustees meeting last Friday, Superintendent Dr. James Hockenberry said that with an increased level of uncertainty with the school district’s revenue and expenditures, and the likelihood that may continue into the future, and expense of that nature would not be fiscally responsible at this time. Dr. Hockenberry recommended to the board that no further action be taken on the item and the matter be considered closed. He expressed his appreciation for all parties who took the time and resources to submit proposals.
