Center Fireman responded to a house fire Sunday afternoon in the James Community spawned by the property owner burning a nearby shed. According to an article on ShelbyCountyToday.com, the residence at 131 County Road 3143 was owned by Johnny Brittain who was doing a controlled burn of the smaller structure when a gust of wind blew the fire to the house. The Center Fire Dept. was called shortly after 1 o’clock, and arrived to find the house completely engulfed in flames. Brittain was reported to have just moved out of the house.
