Most Wanted Sex Offender Turns Self In

A sex offender is off the streets, as one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted, turned himself in to the San Augustine County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday. Thirty-nine year old Eric Lapaul Mosby of San Augustine is still being held in the San Augustine County Jail with no bail set. By the way, the $5,000 that was being offered will not be paid since the arrest was not the result of a tip, according to the DPS. Mosby’s criminal history includes sexual assault of a child, failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements, and aggravated assault, according to the DPS notice issued Monday. Mosby was convicted in 1997 for the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl. Since 2007, he has been arrested multiple times for failure to register as a sex offender. This violent criminal past has led him to being wanted for failure to comply with sex offender registration, tampering with a governmental record, and probation violation.
