Rotary Fun for Funds Starts at 6 p.m. Tonight

The 27th Annual Center Rotary Club Fun for Funds auction will be held tonight starting at 6 p.m. All proceeds go to the Catherine Pinkston Roughrider Scholarship Foundation, with last year’s event raising $60-thousand.

 

Rotary Club President Thomas Morrison says the event helps to fund Center High graduates’ post high school education.

 

You can view the auction on Center Cable TV Channel 2, on the internet at funforfunds.org, or listen to Q-100, KQBB radio. Bids can be placed over the phone or by internet, according to Morrison.

 

Some of the featured items on tonight’s auction include: an insulated deer stand, retail value of $1,500; a Queen of the Sabine Dinner Cruise for 10 for valued at $1,200; a 1992 U.S. Olympic Dream Team framed signed lithograph $1,000 value; a Weatherby 12 gauge Pump shot gun valued at $375; a Johnny Manziel autographed photo, $200; and a set of 4 Houston Texan game tickets valued at $700. There are a number of other items you’ll be able to bid on tonight and assist with the Roughrider Scholarship Foundation.

 

By the way, Morrison tells us on-line bidding will begin around noon today, and you’ll be able to keep up with bidding and make bids via computer and your personal device.
