Local Sports Round up 3/12/14

It was the District 20-3A opener for Center Roughrider Baseball last night, and the Hudson Hornets take a 7-5 win. The Riders fall to 9-7 on the season, and will be home Friday night as the No. 5 state-ranked Diboll Lumberjacks come to town.

 

The Timpson Bears improved their district record to 2-1 with a ten-run rule, 14-4 win yesterday over Mt Enterprise. Timpson is 6-3 on the season, and will be home to take on No. 1 state-ranked Douglass at 2 Thursday afternoon. The Indians are 8-1.

 

The Joaquin Rams come up short in their District 21-1A game at Douglass, as the state’s top-rated team comes away with a 7-1 win. The Rams are 1-2 in district, and are home to play the Tenaha Tigers at 4 today.

 

 

In Softball:

 

The Joaquin Lady Rams are 3-0 in district after a 14-2 win at the Chireno Lady Owls yesterday. The Lady Rams take on Martinsville at home this afternoon in a 1 o’clock first pitch.

 

The Timpson Lady Bears pick up a 15-2 ten-run rule win over the Martinsville Lady Pirates yesterday. Timpson is idle until a March 18 game at home against Joaquin.

 

The Garrison Lady Bulldogs are 4-0 in district after an 18-0 blistering of Central Heights yesterday. Kylie Murdock pitched a one-hitter. Garrison will host Crockett at 2 this afternoon.

 

The Center Lady Riders are 0-2 in district, and will play at Hudson tomorrow, starting with JV at 4:30.
