Timpson Police Nab Drugs, Monday, Firearms

A Timpson Police Department officer made a traffic stop early Saturday morning in downtown Timpson and arrested a Carthage man on drug and firearm possession charges.

 

According to Chief Kent Graham, Officer Thomas Jernigan took 33-year old Andrew Allison into custody after a search of his vehicle turned up 24 grams of meth, $7,000 in cash, along with a pistol and rifle. Chief Graham said the meth had a street value of $2,400. Allison had apparently turned off U.S. Hwy. 59 onto State Hwy. 87 in Timpson when the traffic stop was made.

 

Andrew Allison was charged with Driving While License Invalid, Money Laundering, Felon in Possession of Firearm & Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

 

He made bonds totaling $110-thousand Saturday and was released from the Shelby County Jail.
