The Tenaha Tigers have a Class 1A, Div. 1 area round basketball game at 7 p.m. tonight against West Sabine, at Lufkin Middle School Gym. The winner advances to the region quarterfinal round and plays the winner of Big Sandy/New Summerfield.

 

In another Class 1A, Div. 1 area game, Martinsville’s will play San Augustine at 7 p.m. Friday in Woden. The winner gets the winner of Alto/Brookeland in the region quarterfinals.

 

Central Heights' boys are playing Hawkins at 8 Friday in Tatum, in a Class 2A area game.

 

The Tenaha Lady Tigers are in the Region III basketball tournament in Tyler. Tenaha will play Kerens at 3 p.m. Friday at Tyler Jr. College’s Wagstaff Gym in a region semifinal. Martins Mill will take on Cushing at 5 in the other semi. The region final will be Saturday at 3:30, with the winner advancing to state.

 

The Central Heights Lady Blue Devils are in the Class 2A, Region III Tournament. They'll play Franklin at 6 Friday night in semi-final action. Tatum takes on Crawford in the 8 p.m. semi. The Region Final is 12 noon Saturday.

 

Center ISD has announced the Center Roughrider Football scheduled for the upcoming season, and it includes 6 home games. The regular season will kick-off Aug. 29 at Waskom, then three-straight home games with Buna, Garrison and Jasper, and a road game to Hardin-Jefferson. After the new district coaches and administrators met after the realignment announcement last week, we now have the district schedule. The Riders have five District 6-4A, Div. II games, including three at home. Beginning Oct. 10 at home with Spring Hill, then to Tatum, and Homecoming will be Oct. 24 playing Atlanta, on the road to Texarkana Pleasant Grove, and finishing the schedule Nov. 7 hosting Gladewater.

The Center Roughriders are playing in the Palestine/Elkhart Tournament through Saturday.

The Joaquin Rams and Garrison Bulldogs are in the Pine Cone Classic in Hemphill/Pineland.

The Shelbyville Dragons & Timpson Bears are taking part in the Alto Tournament through Saturday.

The San Augustine Wolves will be playing in the Cushing tournament.

The Center JV Riders are in the Jacksonville Tournament

 

Girls’ softball:

 

The Center Lady Riders, Joaquin Lady Rams and Timpson Lady Bears are playing in the Nacogdoches/Central Heights Tournament today through Saturday.

 

The Shelbyville Lady Dragons have an alumni game at 6 Friday night.

 

The Garrison Lady Bulldogs host Woodville Friday.

 

Soccer today:  The Tenaha Girls/Boys Soccer at New Summerfield 5:30/7:00 pm

 

Soccer on Friday: The Center Roughriders and Lady Riders have district games with Jacksonville. The Riders are home, while the Lady Riders go to Jacksonville. Games start at 5:30 & 7 p.m.

 

Tennis: The Center Roughrider Varsity teams will be at Spring Hill Friday & Saturday.
