Tenaha, Timpson & Joaquin City Councils Meet Today

The Tenaha City Council meets at 5:15 today and among the items for discussion and possible action will be a loose dog issue; and calling for a council election on May 10 for the Mayor’s position and a council member.

 

The Timpson City Council meets at 5:30 this afternoon and is expected to call an election for May 10 to fill the position of Mayor, and two council members. There’ll also be discussion and possible action on the bid/quote for improvements to SoSo Park Amphitheater; and possible purchase of a demo vehicle from DFW Communication for the police department. The municipal court report will be presented for January, and will show $30-thousand in fines and fees were assessed, with almost $17-thousand the city’s share, and the Timpson City Council will be advised the Old Spanish Trail Ride will be making their annual camp-over at SoSo Park this Saturday, while enroute to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

 

The Joaquin City Council meets in regular session at 6 this evening, and among the agenda items for discussion and possible action will be a request by Mark Rust of Nexus System to place a broadband service radio antenna on the water tower & standpipe; repair of utility truck; and a training field for the fire department. The Joaquin City Council will also hear a presentation by the Joaquin High School Beta Club about Little Free Library at the Park, and possibly take action. In addition, the council will discuss personnel overtime in executive session, and return to open session to possibly amend the employee handbook to address grievance policy, salaried employees and overtime.
