S.A. Commissioners Meet Today, Tuesday

San Augustine County Commissioners’ will be meeting at 9 this morning and again Tuesday. Today, the court will discuss and may take action on several agenda items. Among those will be maintenance of Advanced County 911 Road Signs; accepting TCEQ Voluntary Permit Revocations; the Brookeland ISD burn turn-around; a request to purchase non-grant glauconite; county clerk’s copier lease; new vender credit applications; and hear an update on the CETRZ grant (state road funding).

 

Tuesday, San Augustine County Commissioners will hear from Dr. Freddie Avant from the SFA School of Social Work, who’ll present information on a two-year Social Service Needs Assessment, which was used in the county’s successful project proposal and bid to HUD for the building to house the county’s multi-service center. The court is expected to sign over the building to Tri-County for use as a “one-stop” social services center. The building is located on Hwy. 96 south at FM 1277. San Augustine County will also transfer ownership of a mini bus to Tri-County to be used as the first transit vehicle in the county.

 

A reception will follow the meeting. Tuesday’s meeting of the San Augustine County Commissioners’ Court starts at 9.
