Shelbyville ISD Trustees Have Monday Meeting

When the Shelbyville ISD Board of Trustees meet at 6 Monday night, they’ll be calling for a school board election for May 10 to fill the 3-year terms presently held by Tiffanne Klein and Faye Allen.

Election judges will also be named at that time. Early voting for the Shelbyville ISD trustee election will be April 28 thru May 6.

Superintendent Dr. Ray West said the school district will also be making application to the state for weather related Waiver Days, so as not to lose financial funding from the state.

He said the board will also consider revision to the Cheerleader Constitution to allow for more positions on the squads.

Dr. West says construction continues on the all-purpose gym and classrooms for the middle school, and although there’s been some discussion and interest, the matter of placing artificial turf at Dragon Stadium has not been placed on a board agenda for action.

In regards to Shelbyville’s new UIL district re-alignment, Dr. West said he likes the local match ups and feels confident about the Dragons’ competition chances.
