The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce announces the Shelby County Grill Fest 2014. The Chillin’ and Grillin’ event is planned for Saturday, March 22 at the Windham Civic Center. Teams are invited to take part in categories to include: brisket, chicken and pork spare ribs.

There’s a $6,750 payoff, with the first place team receiving $1,000 per meat category, with a trophy for grand champion and reserve champion.

Entry fee is $250, which includes all meat categories, with a $50 discount if registered prior to March 17. A registration form is available online at shelbycountychamber.com. The contest is sanctioned by Lonestar Barbecue Society.

In addition, there will be a 42, horseshoe and washer pitching contest, and live bands during the afternoon. Contact the chamber for more info.
