Joaquin ISD Renews Worsham's Contract, Calls Election

At the regular board meeting of the Joaquin ISD trustees last week, the board unanimously extended the contract of Superintendent, Dr. Phil Worsham by one year for a total of five years, beginning July 1 and ending June 30, 2019. The terms of the salary were not made available.

 

The board also accepted the resignation of Cassie Kay; and retirements of Debbie Leggett and Terri Smith. Stephanie Harkness was also hired on a probationary contract subject to assignment.

 

oaquin trustees also called a school board election for May 10. The three-year terms currently held by John Paul Lawson, Frank Cooper and Jeff Hamilton are up for re-election. Voting will take place in the Joaquin ISD boardroom and the Huxley Volunteer Fire Department.

 

In other business, Board President Jay Dee Cockrell asked that the Tax Ratification Election – District Security be placed on the board’s February agenda.
