High school basketball district action scheduled Friday night includes:

District 20-3A, the Center Roughriders and Lady Riders go to Diboll, Jasper will be at Central and Huntington heads to Hudson.

District 22-1A, Div. 1, Shelbyville at Tenaha, Timpson at Joaquin and Gary at Martinsville.

District 23-1A, Div. 1, Broaddus at San Augustine, Brookeland at Pineywoods and Zavalla at West Sabine.

District 19-2A, Central Heights at Garrison and Elkhart at Palestine Westwood.

The sound of aluminum bats making contact with baseballs will start Friday across the State of Texas, as high school baseball teams can begin practice for the upcoming season. Scrimmages will start Feb. 3, with the regular season to begin Feb. 17. Girls' softball practice began last week, with their scrimmages commencing next week, and first games Feb. 10.
