Mangum Funeral Home was in charge of graveside service over the weeekend for 84-year old Mary Lou Adams of Center. She passed away last Friday at Garrison Nursing Home. Graveside service was held Saturday at Fairview Cemetery in Center. Mary Lou Adams worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone as a switch board operator for many years, and retired from Farmers State Bank after 27 years. Mary Lou Adams is survived by a daughter, Lisa Myers of Center; a son, Randall Adams of Houston; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil Watlington of Center, Jay Watlington of Lufkin, Lavell Watlington of Center, Gloria Watlington of South Carolina and Ruthelma Lou Adams of Nacogdoches.

 

Community Funeral Home announces funeral service for 46-year old Jerry Dewayne Hewitt of Shelbyville. Service will be at 11 a.m. this morning at Triumph 1st Pentecostal Church in Shelbyville, with interment to follow at Lane Town Cemetery in San Augustine. Jerry Dewayne Hewitt is survived by his mother, Floria Mae Hewitt of Shelbyville; father, Jimmy Earl Hewitt of Shelbyville; 5 sons, Derrick Gardner, Eric Gardner, Andre Suell and Corwin Suell, all of Center, and Cortez Bennett of San Augustine; a daughter, Katlyn Suell of Center; and 3 brothers, Billy, James Earl, and Charles, all of Shelbyville.

 

Garrison Funeral Home announces the death of 61-year old Kay Elizabeth Powers of Garrison. No service is planned at this time. Kay Elizabeth Powers is survived by her husband, Robert Powers of Garrison; a son, Gerrod Powers of Irving; mother, Doris Remondino of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and two brothers, Peter Remondino of Phoenix, Arizona and Jim Remondino of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; a sister, Annie Pepinbrink of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; brother-in-law, Howard Lee Powers of Garrison; and special friends, Tootsie Llaso of Garrison; and Tracie Chapman of Timpson.

 

 

Watson & Sons Funeral Home announces service for 90-year old Maxine Edge Sims Miller of Longview. She passed away Saturday. Service will be at 2 Tuesday at Watson & Sons Chapel, with interment at Folsom Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be at 12 noon Tuesday.

Maxine Edge Sims Miller is survived by four children, Brenda Barr of Longview, Reito Sims of Venezuela, Ronnie Sims and Phyllis King, both of Austin; five brothers, J. Frank Edge of Lufkin, James Edge of Clute, Paul Edge of San Francisco, Lyndon Edge of Rogers, Arkansas, and Dale Edge of Pflugerville; a sister, Jackie Miller of Center, and best friend, her dog, Pretty.

 

Taylor Funeral Home of Timpson announces a graveside service for 84-year old Edwin Pate Hughes of Pasadena. He passed away last Thursday. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Blair Cemetery, Timpson. Edwin Pate Hughes is survived by his wife, Florence Shirley Hughes; two daughters, Laura Dee Hughes Swartz of Flint, and Martha Florence Hughes Silos of LaPorte; a son, David Pate Hughes of Pasadena. Edwin Pate Hughes was a 1947 graduate of Timpson High School.
