Due to an estimated 250 families this month needing a food box from Shelby County Outreach Ministries, the non-profit organization is asking for the community’s help in re-stocking the shelves with basic food necessities.
Last month, 200 families came to the outreach center for assistance, and after receiving help for re-stocking from the community, the Shelby County Outreach Ministries says they only have enough stock for two more weeks, or possibly 100 food boxes. One reason there’s been such a higher demand for food are the SNAP benefit cuts.
Shelby County Outreach Ministries would be thankful for any support including but not limited to: food, clothing, furniture, household items (for the Unique Boutique) and/or monetary donations. Stop by their offices on Shelbyville Street in east Center, or call 598-4990.
