Call Meeting to Order and Establish a Quorum

Dr. Golden called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m.

Consider Approval of Amendments to the 2012-2013 Budget   

A motion was made by Jim Sawyer, seconded by Dan Wilkins to approve the amendments to the 2012-2013 budget. The motion carried 7-0.

Public Hearing on the Adoption of the 2013-2014 Budget and Tax Rate

A public hearing was held on the adoption of the 2013-2014 budget and tax rate.

Consider Adoption of the 2013-2014 Budget

A motion was made by Deborah Chadwick, seconded by Sharon Nelson to adopt the 2013-2014 budget. The motion read as follows:

“I move that the board adopt for the 2013-2014 school year the following budgets:

The Maintenance and Operation (M&O) Budget of $20,334,188; the National School Lunch and Breakfast Budget of $1,676,400; the Interest and Sinking (I&S) Budget of $1,292,213; and the Construction Fund Budget of $159,108.”

The motion carried 7-0.

Consider Adoption of the 2013-2014 Tax Rate

A motion was made by Sharon Nelson, seconded by Dan Wilkins to adopt the 2013-2014 tax rate. The motion read as follows:

“I move that the board adopt for the 2013-2014 school year the following tax rates:

The Maintenance and Operation (M&O) tax rate of $1.17 and the Interest and Sinking (I&S) tax rate of $0.1638 for a total tax rate of $1.3338. This tax rate will generate .04% less taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate.”

The motion carried 7-0.

Appoint Delegate and Alternate Delegate to the TASA/TASB Conference

A motion was made by Ortega Cartwright, seconded by Sharon Nelson to appoint Jim Sawyer as delegate and Dan Wilkins as alternate delegate to the TASA/TASB Conference. The motion carried 7-0.

7.

A motion was made by Stephen Shires, seconded by Dan Wilkins to employ the district employees and officers as recommended by the Superintendent.
