Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee Schedules Third Meeting

All summer, the planners from  Fort Worth based engineering firm Freese & Nichols have been working with the Center Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee to update the City’s Comprehensive Plan.  The CPAC’s next scheduled meeting is for Tuesday, September 10 at 5:30 pm at the Windham Civic Center.   Any City resident interested in participating in this meeting is welcome to attend.

“As part of this process, we sent out invitations to each of our residential water customers to take a community survey,” explains Center Mayor David Chadwick.  “At our next meeting we will review the survey results and use any gained insights to inform our decisions and directions for the plan.”

A comprehensive plan examines demographic and economic data on the City and will look at projected population growth, current and future land use, a thoroughfare plan, and neighborhood and community livability.  In coordination with the planning consultant and staff, the CPAC will develop the plan for presentation to Council.  Two additional public meetings to discuss these various topics will be scheduled.

“This next meeting will be very interesting in that we will be talking about economic development, community livability and the implementation of the plan,” described Center City Manager, Chad Nehring.  “We anticipate that the plan will be presented to the City Council for adoption in the next few months.”

Chadwick continued, “This is not a process to take lightly as this plan will guide us for the next 10 years and beyond.”
