The Shelby County Sheriff's Office would like to advise everyone that we received multiple complaints reporting a phone scam on Sunday morning, 9-1-13, involving a person calling residences and claiming to be from their phone company needing to collect money on past due accounts.  We would like to advise the county of the situation and let everyone know that if they have given out any personal information in such a situation to please contact us so we can take steps to stop or minimize any damage.
