New Shelby County Sheriff sworn-in at midnight Tuesday

New Shelby County Sheriff Willis Blackwell was sworn-in at midnight Tuesday during a ceremony at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. County Judge Rick Campbell administered the oath of office to Blackwell, and to newly elected and re-elected county constables. Including re-elected Pct. 1 Constable Zack Warr; Pct. 2 newly-elected Constable Jamie Hagler; Pct. 3 re-elected Constable Billy Hearnsberger; new Pct. 4 Constable Bryan Gray, and re-elected Constable Pct. 5 Stanley Burgay. Sheriff Blackwell then swore-in his deputies, including: Chief Deputy Shad Sparks; Investigators Ricky Allen and John Pope and Deputies Derek Barbee, D. J. Dickerson, Chad Brown, William "Bubba" Lee, Michael Griffin, Jim Ed Mathews, Jeremy Pope, Chris King, Robert Carlsen, Kurtes Lawrence, and Roy Bailey; Courthouse Deputies Walter Shofner, Misty Ray, and Jimmy Wagstaff; and Jail Administrator William Cox.
