Both Shelby and San Augustine Counties have scheduled swear-in ceremonies for elected county officials. New Shelby County Sheriff-elect, Willis Blackwell will be administered his oath of office at midnight, tonight, at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. Blackwell will join the other newly elected and re-elected officials at 10 a.m. Wednesday, for a formal swearing-in ceremony in the community room of the Shelby County Courthouse. In San Augustine County, all elected and re-elected office holders will receive their oaths during a ceremony at 10 a.m., tomorrow morning, New Years’ Day, in the county courtroom. The public is invited to attend these ceremonies.
