O’Malley Alley Pet starting next month

Starting next month in Nacogdoches, a low-cost veterinarian clinic, O’Malley Alley Pet will begin spaying and neutering animals for free, for those that qualify. Volunteers recently raised $20,000 to purchase equipment for the facility, to be located on North Fredonia Street. The pet overpopulation issue in Nacogdoches County is one of the highest in the country, as euthanasia per 1,000 animals is about 60 percent. The facility expects to charge from $25 to $75 to spay and neuter pets.
