There are several Christmas events and parades scheduled tonight and this weekend around the listening area.

HOPE’s Angel & Christmas Tree Light Project in Tenaha will have their tree lighting at 6:30 p.m. tonight in downtown Tenaha.

In Center, the Naughty or Nice 5K night-time run is at 6 p.m. tonight.

The “Christmas in the Plaza” event will take place tonight and Saturday in downtown Nacogdoches during the Nine Flags Festival.

The 17th annual Miss Merry Christmas and Mister Happy Holidays Christmas Pageant, will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, in the Center Middle School Auditorium on Kennedy Street.

Before the night-time parade in Center Saturday, the Daughters of the Republic William Carroll Crawford Chapter will have the First Ladies in Texas Building located on the Center Square open for tours. Refreshments and Christmas decorations can be purchased from vendors located on the west and east sides on the inside of the square.

Parade Grand Marshal, John Howard invites all to the 13th annual Downtown Night Time Lighted Christmas Parade, Santa’s Christmas Parade, in Center at 6 p.m. Saturday. Photo time for children with Santa Claus will be at the Shelby County Historic Courthouse immediately following the end of the parade.

The San Augustine County Chamber of Commerce & San Augustine Garden Club present Christmas in the Park, this afternoon, in downtown San Augustine. The Town Square Lighting kicks off with the parade at 5:30 p.m. There’ll be food by the GoTexans, hot dogs, hamburgers, hot chocolate and more. The Miss Merry Christmas Pageant will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
