Texas American Federation of Teachers meeting

The Texas American Federation of Teachers is inviting parents, teachers, school employees and community leaders to a town hall event in Nacogdoches to create a vision for public education. The meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight at the Nacogdoches Parks and Recreation Center, at 1112 North Street. The meeting is free and open to the public. Texas ATF is traveling throughout the state to offer more than a dozen of these events aimed at creating a vision for Texas public schools. The community conversations will help set a pro-public school policy agenda for the next legislative session and will identify how to improve our schools in the areas of: school funding, accountability, teaching quality, and equal access to high-quality education. Texas AFT represents more than 65,000 teachers, paraprofessionals, support personnel, and higher-education employees across the state. Texas AFT is affiliated with the 1.5-million-member American Federation of Teachers.
