For people wondering what is with the blinking lights on the Center square please refer back to the old story below for the cause. The City of Center intends to remodel the square and make it where people have to slow down while going around the square. According to the Center Mayor David Chadwick, this is a test being performed by TxDOT finding out how people will react to the beautification project of the downtown Center City square. According to TxDOT Media Relations official Rhonda Oaks, the project will last 30 days and at the end of 30 days, they will make a recommendation to the City of Center on whether or not to replace some of the traffic lights with stop signs as part of the city's beautification plan for the downtown Center square.
