The Joaquin Christmas Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, in downtown Joaquin. In addition to the B-B-Q Cook-off there will be Bingo, a cake walk, parade, pageant, live entertainment, pictures with Santa, vendors, mechanical bull, plus, a car, motorcycle and tractor show with first place trophies for each class/no entry fee, Ladies Auxiliary hamburger and B-B-Q plate sales, and the East Texas Chopper Guys Food Drive benefiting Christian Services. You’re urged to bring an unwrapped toy/canned food to help out.
