Shelby County District Attorney Kenneth Florence has advised Center Broadcasting that Kenneth Wayne Boyd was released on a PR Bond last night after serving a 13-year murder sentence for the murder of three in 1997 in Center. Florence says Body remains under indictment while the Center Police Department completes its investigation. If new evidence is found implicating Boyd, Florence said he’s subject to trial. But, without new evidence, he has insufficient evidence to proceed to trial and all charges would be dismissed. Last week, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals granted relief to Boyd in a writ of Habeas Corpus hearing after the writ cited a pattern of prosecutorial misconduct including suppressed items of evidence and false testimony during his trial.
