TxDOT Update

 

 

LUFKIN – Texas Transportation Commissioners approved on Thursday more than $391.7 million in highway improvement contracts statewide, with $2.5 million allocated for three new projects in the Lufkin District.

 

Angelina County was approved for two new projects on SH 103 and US 69, while Nacogdoches County was approved for one new project on FM 1275.

 

A project on US 69 at FM 326 North was approved for $114,856.50 that is earmarked for the installation of a traffic signal. Texas Traffic Control Systems, Inc., Dike, TX, will serve as contractor for the project. No timeline for construction has been set.

 

A construction project on SH 103 West was approved from just south of SL 36 (Old Mill Road) to just north of SL 36. Work will include widening the existing pavement to allow for an additional turn lane. Longview Bridge and Road, LTD., Longview, TX, will serve as contractor for the $1.6 million project. No timeline for completion has been set.

 

Nacogdoches County was approved for a $718,361.99 construction project that will include safety treating fixed objects on FM 1275 from SL 224 to the end of pavement. AR Brothers Construction Service, Inc., San Augustine, TX will serve as contractor for the project. No timeline for completion has been set.

 

As these projects begin, motorists are urged to stay alert and obey all traffic control near the work zones. Reduce speed and be alert for moving equipment and workers.
