Two local students were arrested yesterday afternoon after an ongoing investigation by the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers. The investigation started early in March after two teenagers made an outcry of sexual assault and other allegations that occurred at a residence in February of this year in Nacogdoches County.
Forensic interviews and sane exams were conducted by the Harold’s House with both victims in the case. Sheriff Investigators and the Texas Rangers also conducted detailed interviews with the victims and witnesses in the investigation.
During the investigation, officers executed several search warrants that have led to the seizure of evidence in the case. Investigators and the Texas Rangers established probable cause for arrest warrants for the arrest of Jacek Karczewski 17 years old and Triston Smith 18 years of age both from Nacogdoches.
Karczewski was arrested yesterday afternoon on two counts of aggravated assault Felony 2nd degree and one count of sexual assault a 2nd degree felony. Triston Smith was arrested this morning for one count of sexual assault a 2nd degree felony. Both subjects were booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail.
