FACES OF THE FALLEN

As we once again plan our Memorial Day program that will happen on Monday, May 27, 2019 we would like to collect as many photos of those from Shelby County who died during a time of war that are available.  We honor those who were killed in action as well as those who died of other causes such as accidents and disease who are native from Shelby County or are now buried here.

We have accounted for 14 from the Mexican American War (April 25, 1846 – February 2, 1848; 21 from the Civil War (April 12, 1861 – April 9, 1865); one from the Philippine American War (February 4, 1899 – July 2, 1902); 35 from World War I (April 7, 1917 – November 11, 1918); 126 from World War II (December 7, 1941 – September 2, 1945); 8 from the Korean War (June 25, 1950 – July 27, 1953); 12 from the Vietnam War (November 1, 1955 – April 30, 1975); and 3 from the current War on Terrorism (September 11, 2001 – present day).

If you can supply a photograph or any other information, please contact VFW Post 8904 Quartermaster Larry Hume at 936-598-2976 or email chief@chiefimaging.com.  You can also bring anything you have by Chief Imaging, Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5pm.  We would also be happy to share any information we have of your loved one.
