The Timpson City Council meets in special session this afternoon. The council will consider giving the Chief of Police Kent Graham the authority to hire officers without bringing them before the council, and approve hourly rate for new officers to be hired effective Oct. 1.  In addition, the Timpson City Council will consider approval of a resolution authorizing the submission of a Texas Community Block Grant application to the Texas Department of Agriculture; renewal of a CD account for Woodlawn Cemetery and the electric fund; and review quotes and consider authorizing the installation of an ADA ramp at MLK Park and the sidewalk adjacent to Woods Realty; and replacement of the sidewalk between the café and new public library.  That's a special called meeting of the Timpson City Council at 5 today.
