Shelby County Advocacy Center will be sponsoring a photo booth at the 36th East Texas Poultry Festival hosted by Shelby County Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, October 6 on Shelbyville Street.  Come and get pictures with family and friends or Shelby Chick will be available.

Pre-festival activities start this week on Wednesday, September 26 on the downtown Center square.  Chicken Fajita lunch organized by Bryan Wages will begin at 11:00 a.m.   Lunch includes two fajitas, chips, salsa and a drink for $7 per plate. Gather around the square by 4:30 p.m. to enjoy the Doo Dah Parade with the Shelby County Junior Chamber of Commerce.

After working up an appetite at the parade, chairmen Claudann Jones and Beth Brown say stay for the Chicken Cooking Contest sponsored by Tyson Foods at 5:00 p.m. on the east side of the square.  Tasting and voting for the People’s Choice winner is $5.

While enjoying the chicken recipes pick out a rooster to bid on at the Rooster Revel Auction created by the Center High School Agribusiness and Marketing students under the direction of Shana Brittain. Committee members Andi and Valerie Warren announced that County Judge Rick Campbell will be the auctioneer.
