POW/MIA Recognition Day

Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 and the Ladies Auxiliary invite the community to join them in their annual observance of POW/MIA Recognition Day on Friday, September 21st, 2012.  The program begins at 11 am in the Historic Shelby County Courthouse.  There are 83,417 Americans still missing from World War II to present time and the third Friday of September is set aside each year to remember their sacrifice.  The program will include the “Missing Man Table” by the Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW Post members will perform the VFW Memorial Ritual.  Charles Delaney will be there to perform the National Anthem and sing various patriotic songs.  Questions or more information contact VFW Post 8904 Quartermaster at 598-2976.
