Richard Vaughn Dean appeared before the 123rd Judicial District Court yesterday morning with his attorney Douglas H. Parks. Dean pleaded guilty to the October 2011 killing of his wife and son in Shelbyville. Dean accepting a life without parole sentence as well as waived his right to a jury trial which was accepted by the District Attorney, Kenneth Florence and the Court. The Court found the defendant guilty of the offense of Capital Murder and was then sentenced to be incarcerated with Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division for a term of Life - Without Parole.
