2 Vehicle Accident on 96 Updated

SHELBY COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) investigated a two vehicle crash this morning 7-3-18 on US 96, just north of CR 3774.  The preliminary crash investigation indicates at approximately 11:30 a.m., a 2008 Jeep SUV was traveling south on US 96 when the driver reportedly went to sleep, crossed over the center of the roadway and struck a 2015 Ford SUV in the driver side.
 
The driver of the Jeep is identified as 72-year-old Lynda Huebel, from Shelbyville.  Huebel was not reportedly injured during the crash. The driver of the Ford is identified as 45-year-old Sharon Ray, from Hemphill. Ray was transported to a Center hospital for treatment.
 
This crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at this time.

 

 

Earlier today at approximately 11:30 a.m. on 96 North a two vehicle accident happened a few miles outside of Center, TX.  The Center Fire Department, DPS officers, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office and ambulance services arrived also.  No fatalities reported on scene, however person(s) with injuries were taken to the hospital.  More information to follow as is released from law enforcement.
