Today, we share the loss of an outstanding sheriff. James Moore was known throughout Shelby County as a law enforcement professional who cared deeply about the public he was sworn to serve. There is not enough comfort we can provide to the Moore family, as well as his law enforcement family, except to offer our most heartfelt condolences for their loss. The Moore family also deserves our appreciation and gratitude for their sacrifice. No greater love has a person than the will to give their life for another. Let us honor his memory by joining together, lifting up his family in our prayers, and continuing to provide the quality tradition of service for which he is known for.

 

The flag has been lowered to half staff in honor of Sheriff James Moore.
