SHELBY COUNTY - The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) investigated a non-injury

crash early this morning 6-1-18 on US 96, just south of CR 1009, resulting in the arrest of the

intoxicated driver.

 

The preliminary crash report indicates at approximately 12:30 a.m., a 2006 GMC pickup was

traveling south and reportedly drove onto the southbound shoulder to avoid a vehicle traveling

north in the southbound lane. The driver of the truck over-corrected to the left and overturned.

 

The driver is identified as 54-year-old Charlotte Gillespie from Center, TX. She was arrested for

driving while intoxicated and transported to the Shelby County jail.
