The Shelby County Commissioners' Court met this morning 5-30-18 a little after 9:30 a.m. at the active Shelby County Courthouse.  After saying an opening prayer and the pledges the Court took the following actions:

 

1. They approved and paid weekly expenses.

 

2.  They approved current payroll.

 

 

Bobbie McDaniel

 

3.  Bobbie McDaniel addressed Commissioners’ Court about personalized bricks she purchased but were never installed.  Mrs. McDaniel stated that she paid $300 dollars for bricks which were not installed.  Judge Allison apologized on behalf of the historical commission and assured her they would get the bricks installed.    

 

 

 

Sherry Riley

 

4. They discussed and approved an Inter-local Agreement with San Augustine County, and Sabine County for Veterans Transportation Assistance Grant.  The grant will $20,000 that will be used to pay for travel expenses to take veterans out of town for medical treatment.  In addition according to the Veteran Affairs Officer Sherry Riley the grant will not be divided evenly in thirds between the counties.  Instead it is on more of a first come, first serve as needed basis.
