An observance was  held in honor of the 73rd Anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) at the Veterans Memorial, Historic Courthouse, Center Square, Center, Texas on Tuesday, May 8.   Opening prayer given by Post Chaplain Cynthia Islas followed by the Pledge of Allegiance by all in attendance.  Significance of the day given by Post Quartermaster Larry Hume.  Names of 66 Shelby County Veterans who died in the European Theater or are still missing in action were read.  Memorial Wreath placed by Post Sr. Vice Commander Newton Johnson, Jr., followed by the playing of Taps.
