A single vehicle fatality crash happened on December 7th , 2017 at 7:01 a.m. on 96 North 400 feet from county road 3760.  According to Texas DPS officials a 2011 blue Doge driven by Joseph Michael Windham Sr. 35 of Center was headed south bound on HWY 96 and failed to negotiate a right hand curve. 

The vehicle crossed the roadway did not apply the brakes and hit a group of trees lodging the vehicle in between two trees facing south bound.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
