Local Weather Update

Yes... Saturday was cold for Sassafras. 36 degrees at 6:50 am with wind of 5-7 mph from the NW. A slight shift to the NNW at 4pm was gusting to 17 mph and with the high only at 57...it felt much cooler.

Sunday.... did get much colder to start. My daughter in Houston called and was scraping FROST off her windshield. It was cold here too. 28.5 degrees at 5 am. It did warm up though during the sunny day it turned out to be. If you did not get your plants in under cover...it did burn the blooms off!

Today.... we will begin to see clouds move in from the South  after dark and hide our stars.and keep our low at about 67 degrees after a mostly sunny 76 degrees.

Wednesday... those Gulf breezes return. Cloudy skies will bring us a 75% chance for 1/3 inch of rain and some background thunder with it. 76/67

Thur -Fri ....may have some light hold over rain, but low 80's for a high and mid 60's for lows. winds 8-10 off and on , but dying back each afternoon toward sunset.

Next week ....will see a continuation of the 80/60 temps with a mix of clouds and Sun with mostly Southerly winds at 8-10. Then toward late week we will see a return of a cooler series of days with cold fronts appearing to be headed our way.
