The Shreveport NWS has given me 2 dates to choose from for our SkyWarn
Storm Spotter Training and Certification. The class will be BOTH the *Basic
and Advanced* Session combined?. This is *NOT* to train you as storm
chasers...just observers and reporters of severe weather to confirm to the
NWS and Emergency Management when severe weather occurs.

The session will run from 5:30pm until 8:30.

The dates are:

*Monday the 30th of October or Thursday the 2nd of November. *

*Please call Tom Johnson at 936 275-7255 or emailme at <tomjohnson1204@sbcglobal.net>omjohnson1204@gmail.com
<omjohnson1204@gmail.com>** with an RSVP so we can be sure to accommodate
everyone interested.*

   - I need to have at least 7 to justify their trip. I currently only
have 3 confirmed to attend. I will know the location of the training once I
   know the number attending.

   - It has been a while since we have hael one here in San Augustine. We
have had a number of changes in our first responders, feet on the street,
and we need to be part of the Weather Ready Nation(WRN).

Our emergency first responders like fire departments, law enforcement,
ambulance services, ham operators, emergency coordinators, electric, gas,
and water personnel are the prime audience as they are the feet on the
street during severe weather related emergencies. The Storm Spotter
training will be open to all who wish to participate
so if you have a friend, family member, or someone from a surrounding
   County, please extend an invitation.
