Louisiana Supreme Court decision

The leader of a local school union is speaking out against the Louisiana Supreme Court's decision to not stop the new statewide voucher program.  On Wednesday the high court denied an injunction request by teacher unions and school boards to stall the program. The unions, which requested the injunction, say program is unconstitutional.  The injunction would have stopped the transfer of funds from public schools to private ones.  Caddo Federation of Teachers President Jackie Lansdale says she looks forward to the hearing in October. "It seems a no-brainer, public dollars should go for public schools. They should not go into private schools," says Lansdale.  Wednesday's decision upheld a lower court's ruling from just a few weeks ago.
