Flash Flood Watch

 

 
...Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Monday evening... The Flash
Flood Watch continues for * portions of northwest Louisiana and Texas,
including the following areas, in northwest Louisiana, Sabine Parish. In
Texas, our current northern most counties that are included: Angelina,
Cherokee, Nacogdoches,* Sabine**,* San Augustine, and *Shelby*.
 
** Through Monday evening, rainfall amounts of 1-3 inches with isolated
higher amounts in excess of 4 inches are possible through this time frame.
* Torrential tropical rainfall associated with the slow movement. *
Flooding of roads, low lying and poor drainage areas will be possible. *
 
*If encountering flooded roadways, especially if water is moving over the
Road in any fashion: please turn around, don't drown and report the
location to the local sheriff. *
 
*Precautionary/preparedness actions... *
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash
flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor
later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings
be issued.
