Timpson Swears in Judge Today

 

During the regular council meeting held on July 18, 2017, the City of Timpson appointed Marilyn Corder to the position of municipal judge.
 
There were two names presented as interested parties for the position. Council woman, Yvonne Ramsey made a motion to appoint Marilyn Corder. The second was made by councilman Al Skinner and of the 4 council members in attendance Mrs. Corder received 3 votes. Councilman Kyle Allen was absent from the  meeting and councilwoman,Tiffany Collins abstained. 
 
Councilwoman Ramsey, stated Mrs. Corders volunteerism and the many things she does on behalf of the City as her primary reasons for selecting Marilyn. The appointment is for 24 months, requires 32 hours of judicial training within the first year and 16 hours each year thereafter. The mayor, council and staff look forward to working with Mrs. Corder. 
 
Marilyn Corder will be sworn in at 10am on Tuesday August 1, 2017
